Aegean figs, sun-dried

We grow, dry and pack Turkish figs, fig salami, apricots and mulberries at the source, for importers, retailers and food makers worldwide.

The range, grade by grade

Dried fruit is traded by shape and calibre as much as by size, so here is every form we pack, with the carton it usually ships in.

We own the chain from tree to carton

Women from the growing families sorting figs on rows of drying trays in a field

Gardens we know by name

Most exporters buy at auction. We contract the same growing families every year, walk the gardens before harvest, and let the figs ripen and fall instead of picking early.

Every lot traced and tested

Each carton carries a code back to its grower and drying batch. Aflatoxin, pesticide residue and moisture are tested on every lot, and the certificates travel with the shipment.

Certified to BRCGS and ISO 22000, with EU and USDA organic lots.

From the tree to your warehouse

  1. A wicker basket of figs beside a crate of figs drying in the sun

    Picked

Figs ripen and fall from the tree, and growers gather them every day through August and September.

  2. Rows of graded dried figs in a wooden crate, lit by low sun

    Sun-dried and graded

Five to seven days on open trays, turned by hand, then metal detection, optical sorting, hand grading and lab tests.

  3. Dried figs packed in rows in a carton, with bay leaves laid between them

    Packed and shipped

Your format and label, palletised and loaded at İzmir, usually within 10 working days. FCL, LCL or air freight; EXW, FOB, CIF or DDP.

Two valleys, chosen on purpose

The Büyük Menderes valley floor below the Aydın mountains, seen over tiled roofs

Büyük Menderes valley, Aydın

The Aegean interior around Nazilli and İncirliova is where the Sarılop fig became the reference for dried figs worldwide. Hot dry summers, cool nights and calcareous soil let the fruit ripen on the tree until the sugars concentrate on their own.

Figs for every grade · harvest August–September · dried and packed at our Nazilli facility

Apricot orchards on a dry hillside at Battalgazi, Malatya

Malatya, Eastern Anatolia

Roughly four in five dried apricots eaten anywhere come from the terraces above the Euphrates around Malatya. Altitude and a short, intense season give the Hacıhaliloğlu apricot its density and keeping quality.
